The number of chins I have fluctuates at times since the numbers of fosters and rescues I take in can vary. But I do have my own pets as well, and most of my own chins are rescues or retired breeders as well.
Brownie
A brown velvet from Steve and Alan at Chinstories located in Modesto, CA. He's one of the sweetest chins I own!
Cohen and Holifield
Both Cohen and Holifield came from a rescue group from Southern California. Cohen only has one full eye and one partial eye from an injury he sustained when he was younger. However, even being blind in one eye, it doesn't phase him one bit.
Scooter
Scooter's original owners could no longer keep him due to a baby on the way. Since then, he's found a forever home with me.
Tyson
Tyson was also adopted from a rescue group in Southern California. He was housed with six other chinchillas and is mostly the offspring of inbreeding. Which can explain his very small size size weighing in at only 438 grams.
Sweet Pea
A retired breeer adopted from Pam at Chincolores ranch. She's one of my oldest chins and is definately the Queen of the chin room. She has to get her way, and won't take no for an answer.
Peanut Butter
A rescue that I adopted from a ranch, she was severely fur chewed and malnourished. And to top it off, she was pregnant when I brought her home and gave birth to two girls, one who passed shortly after.
Bootie
Another retired breeder that has came to live out the rest of her life happily!
Ham
Ham is Peanut Butter's daughter, and unfortunately she also began to chew. Her mom and dad were both fur chewers, which leds me to believe that fur chewing can be a genetic trait. Which is why chins with unknown backgrounds shouldn't be bred.
Poodle Hat
Yes, that is her real name given to her by Serenity at TOV Ranch. She's a spunky girl with the unique name.
Oreo
From Lucinda and Courtney at Courtney's Colorful Chinchillas. He was spoiled from birth and is just a people chin! He just loves the attention.
Chibi
Another retired breeder that has came to live out the rest of her life happily!
Zelda
After suffering a miscarriage and emergency C section. Zelda's previous owners decided to rehome her and she recovered from her surgery here with me. I'm happy to say that she's doing great now!
